HERITANCE® HARDWOOD SHUTTERS
Wood shutters bring instant cozy warmth to any room. In addition to the natural beauty of the wood, Hunter Douglas also ensures your accordion shutters are sustainable. The 100% hardwood, either basswood or popular, is harvested from forests that utilize sustainable logging practices. For each Hertiance® Hardwood Shutter purchased, Hunter Douglas makes a donation to the Arbor Day Foundation to help support the renewal of natural forests and rainforests.
Each piece of sustainable hardwood in our wood shutters is precision-shaped using Truemill® Dovetail construction. This fabrication method notches the shutter’s components together without using dowels, glue, or other adhesives. Truemill® Dovetail construction is one of the strongest and most durable ways of connecting wooden panels and creating stunning shutters. The beautifully constructed plantation shutters can then be painted or stained in one of 35 available colors. Hunter Douglas also allows you to customize your color if you need to match something specific. Each shutter is coated with Integra™ Finish to create an easy-to-care-for high luster finish.
For customers with an elevated sense of style, we also offer the Handcrafted Series of Heritance® Hardwood Shutters. This series features several designer finishes, each carefully handcrafted by trained artists. The hand-applied glaze enhances the richness of your natural woods, and you can add burnishing for an extra flair. Classic distressed, or heirloom distressed give your shutters an artistically designed sense of age and wear. If you prefer the wood’s natural look, consider the rustic or textures finishes. Each Handcrafted Series finish creates completely unique shutters.
NEWSTYLE® HYBRID SHUTTERS
These practical shutters combine the look of genuine wood with the durability of composite materials. NewStyle® Hybrid Shutters are constructed using both Truemill® Dovetail joints and Crosslink™ construction to resist warping and bowing. These shutters are engineered to stand the test of time and be enjoyed for years.
When choosing colors for your window shutters, we offer several shades of white and off-white, as well as a selection of stains that mimic the look of natural wood shutters. The low-luster Finetech® finish helps match the warmth of woodgrain and completes the look.
When you have accordion shutters throughout your home, it can be a challenge to achieve a uniform look with the angle of the louvers. When you choose NewStyle® Hybrid Shutters, you can select SoftClose™ louvers. These louvers have the Quick Align™ feature, which has five stop-points, allowing you to align the louvers of every shutter in your home perfectly.
PALM BEACH™ POLYSATIN™ VINYL SHUTTERS
Because of their durability, these window shutters are specially engineered for high-humidity, high-traffic homes. These shutters resist moisture, mildew, peeling, cracking, fading, chipping, and warping because of the polysatin compound they are made from. Palm Beach™ shutters also feature aluminum tracking and resin blocks that strengthen the louvers and help them remain straight even under pressure.
These plantation shutters are also the only option that can be equipped with PowerView® Automation. This motorized operation system allows you to control the louvers of your shutters with a remote or the PowerView® application, so you can easily set every one to the perfect angle. The system also allows you to put the movement of your shutters on a timer so that they can open and close as desired throughout the day. The system also has a manual override feature that allows the louvers to move by hand without hurting the motor, which can be useful in a home with kids or pets.
